Ontario stream trout “grand slam”.

Posted on May 7th, 2017

Southern Ontario anglers have been taking advantage of the trout stream fishing and catching both native Brook Trout, brown trout and steelhead on the fly.

Connor Grdosic sent us these images from a recent stream trout fishing trip where he caught all 3-species in one outing. Look at the colors of the vibrant Brook Trout above.

This post-spawn steelhead is typical as they drop-back in the tributaries to head down to the Great Lakes.

This Brown trout shows off it’s brilliant colors. It would be considered a “resident” brown that lives it’s entire life in the stream. Just in case you did not know, our Brown trout were introduced from Germany many years ago.
