Ontario MNR Kids Art Contest Winners

The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources announced the winners of their Kids Art Contest at The Toronto Sportsman Show in Toronto, ON. The overall winner will have his/her artwork printed on the Ontario Resident Young Angler’s Licence. Nicholas Muraco from Niagara Falls, ON won the grade 4-6 category with his Atlantic Salmon drawing. Ellen Rowe from Toronto, ON won the grade 7-9 category with her Channel Catfish drawing, and Esma Baskurt from Scarborough, ON won the grade 10-12 category and was also the overall winner with her Atlantic Salmon drawing. The other partners were Canadian Sportfishing Productions Inc. (Italo Labignan), Lucky Strike Baitworks (Kim Rhodes), Staedtler-Mars (Diane Brasil) and Red Pine Wilderness Lodge (Janice Bowden). The Deputy Minister, David Lindsay, was the government rep. that day awarding the products. Prizes included fishing tackle, fishing trips, and a scholastic bursary.
