Ron Beirstine reports. The area received some rain showers a couple of days ago and some steady rains are underway today, Sat. The forecast is for heavier rains through later today, tonight and tomorrow. There is the chance for freezing rain and ice here on the Niagara Frontier. A melt-off is underway and flows in all the tribs are on the rise. With the forecasted weather and precip and melt-off flows will likely be going higher or blown. Some ice and snow and debris will likely be pushed out of the smaller tribs. Temps are expected to return cold for the begin part of next week. Right now, Sat, flows in the Oak Orchard are med and slightly stained. Flows have just come up from low and clear. The other area smaller tribs have mod – med flows and flows have begun to over-top ice and snowed-in banks. There are a few guys out on the Oak Orchard and previously under the lower flows some browns and steelhead were being hooked. If flows don’t increase too rapidly through the weekend there should still be the opportunity for some action.
