Nova Scotia Mackerel & Pickerel.

Posted on December 1st, 2022

We had a great trip fishing both saltwater & freshwater our of Lockport, Nova Scotia. After releasing many of our photos we heard from our friends the Grdosic’s that when Conner Grdosic attended Dalhousie University, NS, besides his academic studies he was also able to enjoy the nearby fishing.

Nova Scotia.
Chain Pickerel are common in most small, shallow Nova Scotia lakes and in most cases you can simply catch them just casting lures from shorelines.

Connor fished similar small lakes as we did on our trip and caught scrappy Chain Pickerel simply casting lures from shore.

Connor Grdosic smiles as he lands several Atlantic Mackerel using mackerel-flies just casting off the pier.

He also experienced casting Gotcha’ Lures and fishing jigs with mackerel flies for tasty Atlantic Mackerel right off the pier. That’s the nice thing about visiting Nova Scotia you don’t have to go far to enjoy catching a fresh fish meal!
