Northern Ontario ice-Walleye.

Posted on February 1st, 2018

While we see lot’s of social media ice-walleye catches from southern Ontario and places like the Bay of Quinte, northern Ontario anglers are also catching their share of eating-size walleye.

Simeon Kubassek who fishes out of Thunder Bay, ON has found some productive waters near the TransCanada highway where he and his buddies have been consistently catching nice-size eating walleye. No fancy equipment needed there, just a live minnow on a set-rig, or jigging a jig and live minnow combination on the bottom. While many of the inland lakes produce smaller walleye than the Bay of Quinte, they are just as much fun to catch and excellent eating.
