Jason & Tyler Howick report. We recently returned from the North Bay area after a week of great walleye fishing in northern Ontario. We located large female walleye feeding on schools of baitfish near rocky shoals, points and underwater humps using a Humminbird portable fish finder. We fished 1/4 oz jigs and drift rigs baited with lively chub minnows, worms and soft plastics we drifted and slow trolled (strollin’) near likely walleye structure and feeding areas to catch our trophy fish. The first day of fishing produced eight monster walleye between 24 and 29 inches, and to top off the trip, on the last day Jason caught a trophy 31″, 11 lb walleye which put up an epic battle on light tackle and 8 lb test line.
