I had the pleasure of fishing with Rob & William Strickland in what we can say were “challenging” conditions on the Bay of Quinte. We only had one day to fish together and unfortunately winds picked-up form the east (we all know what that means…fish from the east, fishing is least!), and we had rain all-day-long.
That did not stop us from fishing and catching. Our strategy was to find sheltered shorelines where we could cast for walleye, bass and pike.
For some reason, the rough weather really turned-on largemouth on the weedlines in water from 5-12′ deep.
We hooked largemouth at different locations, but found one weedline where we landed 15-largemouth in less than 2 hrs.!
All of our fish were caught while cranking the Rapala Tail Dancer #9 in the “hot-chub” color. In addition to hooking lot’s of bass, we also intercepted some nice-size pike!
