Tyler Hulme is at it again and getting’er done at the Niagara Whirlpool. He was drifting soft-plastics when he tied into this big, dark male steelhead. At a quick glance you might think its a salmon. Tyler reports the water was so clear you could see 20’+ so he decided to go with lighter line and that did the trick. The fishing throughout the Lower Niagara is excellent throughout April and May and if you are in the area you should take advantage of it. You can cast & retrieve spoons, spinner and jigs, or you can drift roe bags, soft-plastics and streamers, all work well fished either from shore or from a boat.
