The Niagara River is producing more Steelhead and migratory Brown Trout. Anglers both fishing from shore and from boats are reporting good catches of both. Lakers are still in and will continue to spawn through Nov.
John and Connor Grdosic caught their fish drifting 3-way rigs with roe bags in 18-25′ of water. Both the NY and Ontario drift are producing fish. The key is to fish the slacker-water off the shoreline current/structure breaks or the back-currents. Most of the trout and steelhead are being hooked within 2′ of the bottom.
