Niagara River Bass & Walleye.
Posted on September 24th, 2017Late summer is an excellent time to take advantage of some of the best smallmouth bass and walleye fishing of the season.
Cole Shepherd was recently fishing with his dad Jamie on the Lower Niagara. They were drift fishing the current seems without an electric trolling motor. Jamie decided to put their boat in reverse and to “slip” the river moving their larger outboard in and out of gear to keep their lines as vertical as possible so they were drifting their jigs right along the bottom. The presentation payed off and they ended up catching both walleye and smallmouth. As water temps drop more walleye will be moving in making for excellent fishing right through Nov.
