I just finished shooting a “twitching” pike episode using the glass-series Rapala Husky Jerk in very windy conditions. Most anglers left the water within a couple of hours after daylight because the winds were already howling at 30-50 km per hour.
I was amazed at how efficient the “anchor” mode on the MotorGuide Xi5 was not only in holding my position so I could cast and twitch prime areas to catch pike, but also how little it “swayed” from the exact spot. With other electric trolling motors when in “anchor-mode” the electric would make large, sweeping paths up to 10′ in a circle around the actual spot. This was very in-effective when I would try an stay on the spot.
Thank you MotorGuide for making such an efficient electric trolling motor to help me catch more fish, no matter what the conditions!
