Michael Cruse with a dandy, Niagara River Smallmouth

Posted on September 14th, 2009

001I had the opportunity yesterday to fish with a good buddy of mine Michael Cruse. Mike, agreed to join me for an outing on the mighty Niagara River. We decided to launch in Fort Erie. Our outing started off on a positive note, as Mike nailed this impressive smallmouth while drifting with a 3″ blue “flecked” tube jig, the fish was caught within a few minutes of us arriving in the area we planned to fish. Regretfully this was the only fish we managed to boat. We both missed some fish which was a frustrating to say the least!

We did see several other boats in the general area and from our observations very few fish in general where being landed!
