Lower Niagara River Steelhead Action Warming-up.

Posted on November 15th, 2009

yamaha12We went out on the Lower Niagara to see how the rainbows are doing.  Most recently the lake trout have been in in high numbers (season is closed for them now), with some rainbows and browns being caught.  We had the best action on the Triger X single salmon eggs fished on a 3-way swivel/36” lead right along the bottom.  The Art Park drift on the NY side was producing most of the fish.  We hooked fresh-run rainbows and watched other NY guide boats catching mostly lakers.  I’ll be trying it out again tomorrow morning to see if conditions have changed.
