Lower Niagara River, ON steelhead update.
Posted on April 3rd, 2016Aldo Nava of www.niagarafishingadventures.com reports. Water conditions have been good on the Lower Niagara but changing weather has made for challenging fishing. Strong winds have made for difficult drift-control in the current.
We have been catching all of our fish either on live minnows, roe bags, or TriggerX plastic minnows drifting them on a 3-way rig along the bottom. We are catching fish sporadically all over the place which tells me they are scattered probably due to the cold water.
The fish we have been getting are fresh-in from the lake and good fighters. I am anticipating it will get much better once the water warms up a little and the winds calm down.
