Lower Niagara River, ON & NY Fishing Update.
Posted on October 2nd, 2010[nggallery id=328]Anglers are starting to hook-up more fresh-run Chinook Salmon in the Lower Niagara River. Boat anglers targeting Chinoooks are drifting skeened salmon egg clusters (more like big chunks), and are catching salmon on a consistent basis. Shore anglers on the NY side of the river are also doing well fishing just north of the Queenston/Lewiston bridge. Water clarity has been good. Lake Trout are also starting to move into the Lower Niagara in higher numbers and soon they will be the most common catch. Anglers targeting fresh-run rainbows will do well drifting single, imitation salmon eggs along the bottom. .
