Aldo Nava reports that the Lower Niagara River, ON is continuing to produce well on the NY side, right across from the Queenston, ON boat launch.  Boats that are doing well are starting their drift on the NY side, close to the Queenston/Lewiston, NY bridge and drifting out about 30 yds. from shore travelling north with the current to almost the Lewiston, NY boat launch.

Most of the trout are being caught between 15-25′ of water working a 3-way rig along the bottom with a 30″ leader, 1 1/4 oz. pencil weight, #8 Gamakatsu hook and either using an egg-sack, TriggerX single salmon egg, or a Lil’Corky drifter & 4″ streamer for bait. Anglers have been catching a good mix of steelhead and browns fishing the same run.

If you are off for the Christmas holidays and your looking to catch some trophy steelhead and brown trout, you can contact Aldo at, www.niagarafishingadventures.com and book a trip!
