Lower Buckhorn Jumbo Perch.

Posted on October 6th, 2015

You know the perch are big and aggressive when you use bass-size lures and start catching 9-11″ perch, even in cold-front conditions.

That’s what happened when we filmed on Lower Buckhorn Lake during a major cold-front that saw air temperatures drop to 0C in the morning. We still managed to catch lot’s of large and smallmouth bass and some impressive jumbo perch. Late summer is still an excellent time to fish the Kawartha Lakes for panfish and gamefish, just dress properly and choose the right days.
