Low Pressure turning Jumbo Perch on in Lake Simcoe, ON.
Posted on January 24th, 2010The action was non-stop from 9am to 2pm and we caught lots of jumbos fishing in 25-35′ of water. The perch were schooled-up, but hitting very light. Even though I managed to land a couple of dozen nice-size perch on the W4 Jigging Rapala in the pearl-chartreuse head, most of the bigger perch were caught finesse fishing a 1/8 oz. jighead rigged with a 1 1/2″ TriggerX Minnow. We again relied on the Humminbird Ice Sonars and most fish that we marked had to be worked and raised 2-5′ before they gently took our bait. The highlight of the days fishing was the fresh fish fry we enjoyed a couple of hours after we got home!!
