Late Winter Great Lakes Tributary Steelhead.

Posted on March 17th, 2020

Mild weather is hear and the Steelhead in southern Ontario are eagerly running up most Lake Ontario and Lake Erie tributaries.

Our good friends Josh Westerink and Michael Kumar had a blast catching a mix of fresh run “chromers” and a few colorful male Steelhead.

Water clarity has been perfect early in the morning for the first few hrs until the sun comes up and starts the run-off clouding up the tribs again.

Most of the fish are taking fresh roe bags fished under a sensitive float but are hitting very lightly. Both Josh and Michael reports that there have been a whole lot more misses when the float goes under then hook-ups.
