Late-summer Walleye action starting to heat-up!
Posted on October 2nd, 2015With cooler temperatures Walleye are starting to migrate back to their spring “pre-spawing” areas. This is an excellent time to fish crankbaits during the day and especially at dusk.
If you don’t mind fishing in cooler temperatures some of the bigger walleye will readily strike a crankbait. One of my favorite techniques right now is to fish the Rapala Jointed Shad Rap during the day and the Rapala Husky Jerk at dusk and after dark!
Walleye on-the-move can show up quickly, especially at dusk drawn to moving water. This is an excellent time to fish flows down-stream from dams and around river mouths. Casting from an anchored position usually works best since the walleye come to you!
