Late summer Smallmouth action.

Posted on September 26th, 2020

Our good friend Gabor Horvat is getting ready for the fall “Smallie” fishing and already checking conditions at southern Ontario reservoirs.

He reports that the water temp dropped from low 70s to around 67F after his last trip. Right away he noticeable hthat bass have become more active as the water temps start to drop.

Although, he also noticed the body temp of the bass he was landing is still higher then the surface water temperature.  That means: it will take some time until the water cools down to the deeper water. As the cooling happening,  the predator fish will start to feed more and more aggressively. Gabor only fished for about 2 hours and caught several nice Smallmouth Bass.
