Last day of Pre-Fishing before shooting Quinte Walleye TV shows.
Posted on December 11th, 2009Air temperatures plummeted last night and when we woke up this morning in Belleville, ON, the air was a balmy -5C. We headed down to Picton, ON again and after picking up some coarse salt, salted the boat launch and proceeded to troll in the vicinity of Picton Bay. Again within a few minutes we hooked two trophy walleye and one surprise lake trout. We quickly decided to travel a couple of miles and try vertical jigging in 30-50′ of water and caught several eating-size fish in the 16-17″ range. We also hooked many smaller walleye, but did not connect with any trophy fish using jigs. Weather forecasters are calling for a winter storm to move through tomorrow but we are hopeful conditions will still allow us to land some tropy walleye for the TV show.
