Larger Steelhead are already moving into all the Lake Ontario, ON tributaries.

Posted on March 15th, 2011

I had a chance to fish with my good friends Bill & Shelly Selby yesterday and even though the water in the tributary we were fishing was high and murky, we still managed to hook about a dozen fish. With mild temperatures this week steelheaders should definitely try and get out to fish some of their “all-year” open stretches on many of the Lake Ontario, ON tributaries. Water levels are subsiding every day and the water is clearing up. Lot’s of good size fish have moved in. Fresh rainbow trout spawn sacks tied in bright yellow netting will work best fished under a float with 6-8 lb. test as a main line.
