Lake Simcoe producing lot’s of perch!
Posted on January 23rd, 2010I had the opportunity of fishing with my daughter Patricia on Lake Simcoe today for jumbo perch. We headed to the west-side of the lake, just north of Lefroy, ON and walked about 1km out to fish in 25-39′ of water. The ice was a solid 7″ and we fished the Jigging Rapala in the W3 & W4 size, and a 1/8 oz. jighead and 2″ TriggerX Minnow close to the bottom. Our Humminbird Ice 55 easily marked our lures and the fish that we caught.
Patricia ended up catching the most perch, and the biggest. With temperatures shooting above freezing, we will head out to the same area again tomorrow.
