Perch anglers will be happy to hear that the spring open-water season for Lake Simcoe, ON jumbo Perch is producing excellent catches. While many anglers are fishing small live minnows on the bottom and catching a mix of Perch sizes.
Others have done well catching mostly larger perch in the 10-12′ length using small 1/8 oz. jigs and 1-2″ plastic grubs fished on light line and near the bottom.
Good locations to find them in near weeds as they are preparing to spawn in water depth from 7-15′.
