Lake Simcoe Ice Fishing Report.
Posted on January 3rd, 2010Lake Simcoe ICE REPORT Jan.1, 2010
The ice season is now on us and according to the Farmers Almanac we are supposed to have a colder and dryer (less snow) winter then in a normal year in the Lake Simcoe area. That, of course is good news for all fishermen.
Most shallow protected areas on the lake have anywhere from 4 to 7 inches, like south Cooks Bay, Virginia Beach, lower west shore of Cooks Bay, Ojibwa Bay (Lake Couchiching) , Tudhope Park (Lake Couchiching).
Be real careful if you need to get out soon, as the ice has a thin layer of snow on it and is hard to judge the thickness from a distance.
Welcome back to our 2010 ice report.
