Lake Scugog summer largemouth.

Ed Dolstra has had good results catching largemouth bass fishing on Lake Scugog right through the hot summer.  While many anglers are put-off by the relatively shallow water and heavy weed growth, many fish the open weedbeds instead of shallow shorelines and do well.

On of the most effective way to fish the weed-pockets in 2-4 feet of water is by fishing a Jointed #11 Rapala in one of the bright colors. This Rapala is ideal since it only dives down a couple of feet and quickly comes to the surface when at rest. This makes it ideal for a stop-and-go presentations to fish effectively around the vast weed clumps.
