Tyler Howick reports. Spent a few hours out from Grimsby, ON for lakers and I was not disappointed. We fished spoons, flies, dodgers, & flashers all behind our downriggers which were set for 80-100′ water. We laned 7-lakers in total and lost a couple of fish as well. You can see that some of lakers were real trophies!
One of the keys to consistently hooking Lake Ontario lake trout is to fish deep, right along the bottom. Often anglers targeting lake Ontario lakers will purposely “bounce” their cannon ball off the bottom every once and a while too attract roaming lakers!
