Lake Ontario tributary steelheading action just starting to “warm-up”.
Posted on April 3rd, 2015With milder temps finally here, and a good down-pour yesterday, the Lake Ontario tributaries are now all open and full of fish. Many may be “blown-out” today from heavy rain in some southern Ontario areas, but they should stabilize if we don’t get more rain over the next couple of days.
I had a chance to fish with my good friends Bill and Josh and had fun drifting fresh roe bags with the Rapala Concept Ti, R-Type and Shift drift outfits.
We use the high-vis Sufix mono. lines and landed many fish. The fish turned off each day around noon when the we lost visibility.
Looking forward to getting out again next week!
