Lake Ontario staging Chinooks.

Posted on September 4th, 2015

Great Lakes anglers are taking advantage of staging Chinook salmon that are moving in and out of harbor mouths in most of our Lake Ontario tributaries.

Trollers are targeting staging kings in water less than 50′ deep and even as shallow as 30′. At the same time pier fisherman are doing exceptionally well casting glow-in-the-dark spoon for the first few hours after dark. This is an excellent time to catch these salmon before they head up-stream and become harder to catch!
