Lake Ontario in-shore browns.

Michael Jordan Colton sent us this image of his Lake Ontario “in-shore” brown he caught trolling a spoon near the mouth of the Niagara River, ON.

April and May is an excellent time to target brown, rainbow and lake trout that are in water less than 30′. You can simply flat-line troll with either a wobbling spoon or a Jointed Rapala, or also use planer boards or shallow-set Dipsey Divers. As water temps warm up and more baitfish move shallower the fishing will only get better.
