Aldo Nava who operates www.niagarafishingadventures.com gave us an update on the Lake Ontario “near-shore” fishing for brown & lake trout.
On his last few outings he has bee hooking brown and lake trout continuing to use 3-way rigs, TriggerX minnows and roe-bags.
We have also spoken to other small-boat anglers that have been trolling with spoons and body baits in water less than 30′ deep off of Port Dalhousie & Jordan Harbor and they are reporting average catches of 2-3 fish made-up of browns and lakers. As the shoreline water start to warm-up, the baitfish should should start moving shallow which should also bring more trout in.
