The Chinook salmon fishing out in Lake Ontario continues to be excellent with Capt. Aldo Nava who operates www.niagarafishingadventures.com reporting up to 20-fish mornings.
Aldo has been hooking his fish consistently out from St. Catharines, ON on all his gear; downriggers, Dipsey Divers and sinking long-lines. Cut-bait rigs are still the top producers but he is also catching fish on spoons. Key trolling depth is 60-90′ at 2-8 to 3mph trolling speed. Look for Chinooks to start moving in-shore as they start to stage at the mouth of the tributaries over the next few weeks.
