Lake Ontario Chinook update.
Posted on August 10th, 2017The Chinook salmon fishing out in Lake Ontario continues to be excellent with Capt. Aldo Nava who operates www.niagarafishingadventures.com reporting up to 20-fish mornings.
Aldo has been hooking his fish consistently out from St. Catharines, ON on all his gear; downriggers, Dipsey Divers and sinking long-lines. Cut-bait rigs are still the top producers but he is also catching fish on spoons. Key trolling depth is 60-90′ at 2-8 to 3mph trolling speed. Look for Chinooks to start moving in-shore as they start to stage at the mouth of the tributaries over the next few weeks.
