I just got updates from Newcastle to St. Catharines, ON from anglers chasing Lake Ontario Chinooks and they are still catching them. Aldo Nava @niagarafishingadventures has continued to smash salmon on every outing!
Water temperatures are in the mid-sixties Fahrenheit near shore, but if you go out to 200′ of water and go down 120′, the temperature is in the mid-fifties. Even though the deeper water has the Chinooks preferred temperature range anglers are continuing to catch good-size fish in the warmer near-shore waters. Trolling the TriggerX cut-bait heads with plastic inserts have been working great!!
