Lake Ontario, Bronte Creek charter salmon action.

Posted on September 11th, 2014

andrew_chinookAl Pietrangelo had a chance recently to fish with Doug Mclauchlin, & his son Andrew.  They booked a charter on Lake Ontario out of Bronte Creek, ON.

al_pietrangeloAndrew made the first catch that they were told was a wild Chinook Salmon, which weighed in at 20lbs. 2 ounces! It was a battle to get the salmon in and Andrew, who is 14 years old, almost got dragged into the water at one point.  Doug caught several smaller fish which were released and Al finally managed to hook an Atlantic salmon weighing about 10-12 lbs.  The captain was really excited because there apparently are not too many of those caught locally!
