Lake Nipissing Pike & Gar.

Posted on November 10th, 2021

Our good friend Regan Thompson co-owner Paradise Cove Resort, West Arm, Lake Nippising, ON sent us these trophy fish catches over the last week.

Fall Pike
Regan Thompson measusres-out a trophy Pike he intercepted while fall Musky fishing in the West Arm of Lake Nipissing.

Fall is a great time to hook-up big Pike. Regan is an expert multi-species Lake Nipissing guide who specializes in putting his guests on trophy Musky. On a recent trip they landed a really nice Pike fishing Musky lures and Musky fall patterns.

Fall Pike.
Big Gar Pike also move into shallows in the fall looking to intercept smaller fish moving out from shallower weedy areas.

His guest also landed the largest Gar Pike of the season fishing the same areas. When water temps start to fall many of the larger predator fish move onto shallower water looking for panfish, smaller coarse fish and gamefish that are moving out of those shallows to intercept them. The West Arm of Lake Nipissing is a maze of structure breaks & weeds which makes it ideal for fall fishing.
