Lake Huron tributary steelhead.

Posted on February 26th, 2020

This winter has been not so good news for ice anglers in southern Ontario, but great news for tributary steelheaders! Up and down temps have produced on and off safe ice fishing conditions and those mild spells have kept many tributaries open enough to catch Steelhead!

Brandon Weber had a chance to fish one of the Lake Huron tributaries and while there was lots of ice out from shorelines it still make drifting possible. He used a custom steelhead baitcasting outfit with light line and due to the “gin-clear” water conditions he drifted beads under a CoolWaters float.
