Lake Huron Longnose Gar.
Posted on August 2nd, 2015Our pastor and good friend Jamie Shepherd just sent us these images of a longnose gar he caught fishing in Lake Huron, Parry Sound, ON.
While longnose gar are common in the great lakes, this is the first time Jamie has been able to catch one in the are hi fishes.
Jamie was casting a Rapala Shad Rap when he hooked his gar. As you can see from the image above, it was hooked well which is really an exception. Gar, because of their bony and long snout are usually very difficult to hook with artificials…well done Jamie!
