Lake Erie Tributary Steelhead Action
Posted on April 13th, 2009Joe Kubassek reports: I fished one of the Lake Erie Tributaries on the Ontario side this weekend and the water was in good condition. I fished trout egg spawn-sacks with a float-rig and caught 3-migratory rainbows. Two of the fish were in the 7-10 lb. range and I also landed one female rainbow that was at least 15 lb.. She still had eggs running out of her and obvious wear-patches on her sides from actively spawning . Only the top half of her tail was whole with the bottom part almost entirely worn-out from digging her nest. Talk about a powerful fish. She was mighty happy when I released her.
