Lake Erie, ON Walleye & Trout action continues.
Posted on August 18th, 2013Tyler Howick reports. Fished 14 miles out into Lake Erie off of the North Shore this morning, headed southwest until we hit 66-67 feet of water. We went 8 for 9 on the Walleyes (biggest 8.5 lbs), 2 Rainbows, 10 giant Silver Bass, 5 Sheepshead and one jumbo perch. Hottest rig of the day was a #1 Dipsy (with ring) #3 setting, 230 back with a copper Crater Face spoon. Downriggers were also on fire, 62 and 56 feet down fishing 50 and 75 foot leads, with watermelon and greasy chicken wing spoons taking a lot of fish. Got one smaller rainbow on 8 colour lead core and lost a couple other big fish on it as well. Great day on the water, wind and weather were amazing!!!
