Lake Erie, ON Tributary report.
Posted on April 6th, 2010Tyler & Jason Howick report. Water levels on Lake Erie tributaries are very low and we have started catching some suckers. Best fishing has been in the lower sections near the lake with the action a little slower upstream. We have been catching a few white suckers but not many redhorse suckers have shown up yet. Live worms baited on slip-rigs and split-shot rigs fished still on bottom takes the majority of fish and sometimes fish can be caught drifting or bottom bouncing depending on conditions and current. Many shiners and some smelt have shown up around piers, harbour areas, and river mouths. Anglers using dip-nets have been successful with large numbers of minnows being caught.
