Today I had the pleasure of fishing with the 2013 MNR Art Contest Winner, Jessica Louise Kaercher. Jessica is from Kearney, ON and she travelled down to Fort Erie, ON with her mom Terry and her boy friend Brennon Smith. The weather was hot and winds calm. We started a little late and arrived at the first reef on Lake Erie around 10am. We fished tubes/Rapala roda & reels in 12-20′ of water using the Sufix 832, 10 lb. test braided line.
We hooked several big fish and lost them all. The water is so clear in Lake Erie that you can watch your fish fighting as deep as 15′ and can really get a good idea of it’s size. Brennan holds up one of the bass we landed fishing after lunch on the Upper Niagara River. It was hot, but we had fun!
