Lake Erie, NY, Bass Fishing Trip.
Posted on May 20th, 2009I had the chance to try out the new 175 G3 powered by a www.yamaha-motors.ca , 150 hp motor and outfitted with a www.minnkotamotors.com , Fortrex 80 lb. thrust electric and www.humminbird.com , 1197 cSI Combo & 798 SI Combo sonars. The rig worked great and we headed out of Fort Erie, ON to fish for largemouth and smallmouth bass on the NY side of Lake Erie which has an all-year open season for bass.
My daughter Patricia hooked the first fish on a 1/4 oz. jighead/4″ www.stormlures.com , Rattle Tube. We both ended up cathing about a dozen bass between us averaging 3- 3 1/2lb.. From my observations, many of the bass are still in deeper water and working their way shallow. The www.rapala.com , Husky Jerk in the #13 size produced most of the smallmouth bass. If the weather continues to be warm, the shorelines waters will warm up and the bass should move shallower in the next week or so.
