Kitimat Lodge, BC Fishing Report.
Posted on July 23rd, 2010Tracy John Hittel reports. With only 1- 2 weeks left for the Skeena and Kitimat Chinooks I have to report some of the nicest fish we put to the photo factory this summer, so far! It all comes down to the guides that work for us and this year we are quite happy with our line-up. Pics of Angling Guide Richard Pow and client Tom Schratz with a hefty 50 plus Chinook, then another of Guide Phil Thom with a monster Kitimat Buck, not to mention Darren Bisson who put many of our clients into Tyee fish each day for a good couple of weeks, not to mention a client from Europe caught a Chinook so big he is getting it mounted locally then sent overseas to Switzerland, here he is holding Italian Client, Franks 50 plus pounder. Also Disco Donny who landed 3- 50lb plus fish this summer is holding a Kitimat hog, and our finale, a 62lber on the Skeena this past week, with Guide Barkley Manderson and guided angler Troy Hittel. All of these fish come with a lengthy story and if you get a chance to be guided by any of us you will hear the stories in great detail.

Steelhead are also entering the Skeena and yesterday we had a double header Steelhead on the set line, so the Sockeye, Steelhead and Coho are entering Skeena country. River conditions are amazing on the Skeena, very low and great fly water, the Kitimat is low and glacier colored, with a small run of large Pink Salmon and the start of the Chum Salmon. The Kitimat has also had a nice run of Sockeye this year and client John Schratz landed a half dozen the morning before his flight back to England.
Arriving guests are from Germany, Seattle, Edmonton, Calgary and France.
