Kawarthas Slab Ice-Crappie!
Posted on January 30th, 2019Our good friend Bill Selby took a trip up to the Kawartha Lakes to see how the crappie fishing was doing. In preparation he tied many 1/16 and 1/8 oz. custom jigs to fish on light line.
His jigs worked well and produced up to 30 nice crappie a day. Due to a Polar Vortex temps dove to under -20C on the ice so fishing in a heated and portable hut was a must.
Bill custom Crappie jigs are tied with an epoxy head, life-like eyes, very light hair and living rubber strands.
His jigs definitely fool crappie and his biggest from the weekend was a whopping 14″ long!!
