Kawartha Lakes “perch-fest”.

As our lakes warm up and we start to get seasonal aquatic weed-growth panfish anglers are targetting these tasty fish just off shorelines in water form 5-7′ deep. One of  their primary targets is the tasty Yellow Perch.

Ed Dolstra has been doing well catching perch that have been averaging anywhere from 10-12 1/2″ just fishing live bait along weed edges in Lake Scugog, ON.

While many southern Ontario anglers target jumbo perch in Lake Simoce, many have discovered that several of the Kawartha Lakes including Scugog, Buckhorn and Pigeon offer excellent fishing for them all summer long.
