Just shot a trophy back-lake Ocean Kayak TV show from Red Pine Wilderness Lodge, ON.

[nggallery id=269]We just finished shooting a trophy, back-lake, Ocean Kayak TV show from Red Pine Wilderness Lodge, ON.  The camera crew, my wife Barbara and I and our guides Ryan and Andrew hauled a 13′ Trident Ocean Kayak fully rigged with Humminbird sonar and accessories along with all of our camera gear and a Minn Kota electric motor and 12 vt. deep cycle battery two portages and three-lakes in from Lady Evelyn to shoot some amazing trophy smallmouth bass on light gear.  I probably hooked near 50-smallies in a few hours and the largest fish that made it into the show were anywhere from 17-19″ (3 1/2-41/2 lb. fish).  All the larger fish were caught on 1/8 oz. jigheads tipped with a half-worm and fished with Rapala ultralight spinning outfits and Rapala Titanium 10 lb. test braid.  The Ocean Kayak equipped with a Humminbird 835c worked great to help me locate the larger fish and to stay on top of them.   I also caught lots of fish using the Lucky Strike small spinner and worm combination.  The portage in and out of the lake was made a little easier by taking a break both ways and enjoying the plentiful blueberries.  Make sure to look for this exciting show when our new series starts on TSN.

If you would like to enjoy some great Ontario wilderness fishing that you can drive to, make sure to check-out www.redpinelodge.com , on Lady Evelyn, ON.
