Florida saltwater action.
Posted on September 28th, 2022Our good friend Jonathan Katz had a chance to fly south to Florida and check-out the Gulf of Mexico saltwater action.
He wasn’t disappointed landing his personal best 54″ Barracuda that hit a live Blue Runner fished near the surface and put up an amazing fight where they had to chase the fish with the boat.
They also caught some tasty Lane Snapper along with bigger Blue Runners and a variety of other bottom-fish. They were fishing frozen Sardine cut bait on the bottom and caught eating size fish and also fished Sabiki rigs to catch the Blue Runners they used with their live-bait rigs on the surface. In Jonathan’s words, the action was so hot that after catching enough snapper to take back they just let the rest go.
