Southern Ontario reservoir Walleye.

Posted on June 15th, 2022

Our good friend Gabor Horvat has been fishing some of the southern Ontario reservoirs that have good depth and one of his favorite fish, Walleye,

Walleye.
Reservoir Walleye in southern Ontario feed heavily after spring spawning and roam any new weeds in search of smaller fish.

Gabor has been fishing crankbaits along the shorelines where new aquatic vegetation is growing. Most of his fish have been caught in the 5-10′ depths.

Walleye,
Fishing crankbaits slowly to get a “lazy” wobble around the weeds is one of the best presentation to fool bigger Walleye.

These reservoirs waters are controlled and water levels can fluctuate. In the spring water is high but as we get into summer water levels tend to be dropped. Some of the best fishing is when the water levels are normal.
