Atlantic Mackerel action.

Posted on September 1st, 2022

Saltwater anglers in the Maritimes are taking advantage of summer Atlantic Mackerel fishing. Mackerel move in-shore to feed on plentiful baitfish and can be caught off the beach, at outlets, off piers and from boats all summer long. Best presentation to use is either a tandem “mackerel-fly” rig or fast swimming spoons that dart from side to side. The south shore of Nova Scotia is an excellent area to fish for them especially around Lockport.
