Atlantic Mackerel action.
Posted on September 1st, 2022Saltwater anglers in the Maritimes are taking advantage of summer Atlantic Mackerel fishing. Mackerel move in-shore to feed on plentiful baitfish and can be caught off the beach, at outlets, off piers and from boats all summer long. Best presentation to use is either a tandem “mackerel-fly” rig or fast swimming spoons that dart from side to side. The south shore of Nova Scotia is an excellent area to fish for them especially around Lockport.

Fresh-caught Atlantic Mackerel aren’t big but are delicious grilled up fresh with seasoning.

If you’re planning a trip to Nova Scotia make sure to check out, https://www.seasidecottages.ns.ca/ , for your accommodations and Lockport for your saltwater fishing.
Make sure to check the fishing videos on our Italo Labignan YouTube channel and if you have any questions just email them to me at Ask Italo throughout our www.canadian-sportfishing.com website.
